The fall meeting date and location have been set for the Far West Chapter. The meeting will be held at the John Muir Inn in Napa, California, on October 30 and 31. The room rate will be $99 plus tax. This rate applies starting October 28 and ends for the night of November 1. To get the rate callers must identify themselves as being members of the 94th Infantry Division Association. The hotel reservation number is 1-800-522-8999. Reservations must be made by September 30. The luncheon after the meeting on Wednesday, October 31, will be at a nearby Marie Callender restaurant for a charge of $15 per person. Send any reservations for the luncheon to Gene Markus at 4758 Collinos Way, Oceanside, Calif. 92056-5133. Make checks payable to Far West Chapt. 94th Inf. Div. Assn. Two other events are also planned.

I am looking for information about my grandfather, Forest Leigh Berry.  He was a member of Company A 774th Tank Battalion.  If anyone remembers gramps please let me know.  I appreciate any information about him or his Battalion.  Gramps mostly talked about his time in the war when I was too young to remember.  He passed away 2 weeks ago today and would like to learn more about the time in his life that he was exceptionally proud of.

Searching for anyone who may have known my father, Cpl William Lange. He was assigned to the 94th Div, 376th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Bn, Company M as a .30 cal machine gunner. He deployed from Camp Philips with the division to England and then to France.  He was wounded in Nennig in mid-January 1945 and evacuated to England and later the U.S. He passed away in Feb 1994, a few weeks before his 72d birthday. Any information from anyone who served with him would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a news paper columnist and have written several times about the 94th and Sgt. Red McIntire, a Charlottesville resident who was quite active in newsletters and the such with the 94th. He'd also lost his leg to a land mine in Feb. 1945. Unfortunately, Red seems to have disappeared. His number no longer rings at his home and he isn't available in telephone information anymore. I am seeking information about my father, Pfc. George C. Dusenberry, Service
Number 35 690 515 who served with the 94th Infantry Division between 1942 and 1945.  He and my mother were born and raised in Louisville, Ky.  They were married in Kansas before he went over seas. He died in March of 1952 and she died in 1962.  I have attempted to obtain his military records and medals from the National Personnel Records Center but was told his records were lost during the 1973 fire.  His military buddies and most friends called him "Dussy".  Two of his buddies, James Kelley and Harry Workinger
(spelling?), were from Indiana.  He apparently served with the 376th Infantry Regiment, may have become cut off from his unit during the Battle of the Bulge and received the Silver Star with Numerous Bronze Stars.  I obtained the above information from old correspondence and photographs.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.  I am now a grandfather who previously served in the military, and would like to preserve our family legacy.  My email address is jgdusenberry@hotmail.com

I was in Brittany on October 2, 1944.  I was in a patrol that was ambushed
on that day.  I was one of 55 men who were taken prisoner or killed in
that ambush.  I was wounded and spend six weeks in a hospital in Lorient,
until I was exchanged in November, 1944.

In May, 2000,. my wife and I were invited to attend ceremonies in Etel and
Ile de Groix in honor of the 94th.  We were there with John Hoerber, Bob
Higgins and Wayne Stewart.  We were there when they dedicated a plaque to
Tony Leone's brother, who was killed in Etel.   At that time, we looked for the ambush site, but could not find it.  We have a map drawn by Wayne
Stewart and Bob Higgins.

We have been in touch with a Frenchman, Frank Perammant, who was a five
year old child at that time.  He lived nearby, and was aware of the attack.  He knows just where it took place.  He also told us that there is a book called "Not in Vain", by Leon Standifer,  who was one of the soldiers on that patrol.  The book has a map of the exact spot.

I would like to get a copy of that book.  We are going back to Brittany on
July 7th to July 9th., and would like to be able to see the site. 

Do you have any information about this book?  How can I get a copy?

I am searching for information on my Grandfather, Martin Arce, from California.  He passed away in 1995 and I never had the chance to ask him any questions about his service in WWII.  A family member said he was in the 302nd regiment, 94th Division.  He had either been wounded or shell-shocked and was sent to a hospital. That's all I know.  I am trying to verify that and find out more information....  If anyone can possibly help me it would be so appreciated!  Please email me @ Alycat9705@aol.com

and I've been able to find more information on him than on Martin.
