Subject: Stephen Ambrose's picture of 94th Infantry

Does anyone know who these individuals are? The photo is on page 224 of Stephen Ambrose's book, Citizen Soldiers. The caption reads: "Christmas 1944. In a manger six hundred meters from the German lines, men from the 94th Division dry out and count their blessings." 

Incidentally the book is very good.

My father, Sargeant Leonard Ellstrom, served in WWII in the subject unit from 1942 until 1945 in the Eastern European Theater.  Would your group know of him or of anyone who had any journals which may have him mentioned?
He also went by the initials LEE. 
His service record number is 36315589.  He is listed in a book on the 94th Armored under Battery C as a sergeant and he is also pictured there.  We think he is the one who is holding the dog.  He seemed to have a dog with him in a lot of his pictures.

Putting together this information is important to me as it was kept from us for so many years.  My children are growing and never knew about this about their grandfather and only knew what little I was able to remember before he died.

I would greatly appreciate any help you may have.  I know time is short as many of the men he served with would be 70 or even older.
